Durban

The city has the largest population of Indian's outside of India. This unique demographic illustrated by Durban's Grey Street Mosque, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. A highlight for visitors to Durban would be a trip to Shakaland and an encounter with Zulu's and their customs. Battle Grounds of Rorkes Drift and Blood River remind one of the Zulu, Boer and British Forces who fought over the beautiful and fertile lands. Durban is famous for its stunning coastline and beaches.The warm Indian Ocean makes it ideal for bathing and surfing. In July the Gunston 500 surfing event is held at North Beach every year and draws in some of the best surfers in the World .The same beach also hosts the African leg of the World Beach Volleyball Championships. July also brings South Africa's Premier Horse Race, the Rothman's Handicap challenge. For Rugby enthusiasts, the impressive sight of Kings Parks is home of the Natal Sharks.

Game Reserves
Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve: The oldest in Africa at 105 years old, the reserve covers a massive 100,000 ha and boasts the Big Five, 400 endangered Black Rhino and a variety of other Species.
Mzuki Game Reserve: Equally impressive, this bird watchers paradise covers over 600 different types of birds.

Drakensburg Mountains
The Mountain Range is found in land from Durban and runs parallel to the coastline. The Royal Natal National Park of the Drakensberg covers more than 8,000 ha and has some stunning sights. A 1000m sheer Basalt Cliff , known as the Amphitheatre, stretches for 4 km here and the Drakensberg's Tugela Falls, the second highest waterfall in the world. Another fine example for hikers: This breathtaking area is a must, with 31 different trails to chose from.

Trout-fishing, Deep Sea Fishing, Canoeing, Sailing, white-water rafting, Boat trips for viewing Whales, Dolphins and Sharks.
